Zander stared blankly at his computer screen. He had no idea how, or when his life began to ravel, but here he was. The wrong side of 30, working in a job he seldom understood for an organisation he lost faith in many moons ago. He instinctively hit ‘delete’ on each email, inched out his lunch breaks and made it a point of doing everything nearly right, for no other reason than that he had to do something to feel even the slightest something.
